March 16 Message from the TX Region SCCA

Things have changed rapidly since my last communication just 5 days ago. Sunday evening the CDC released new guidelines that recommend rescheduling or cancelling any event that has more than 50 people in attendance. Nearly all of our events fall into this size guideline. We are committed to protecting the health of our participants, their families, and the members of the communities where they live and work. We will be rescheduling events in order to do our part to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Events that are immediately impacted:

Autocross School Mar 21
Autocross #2 Mar 22
Children’s Book Rally Apr 4

The new CDC guidelines recommend these event suspensions continue for 8 weeks. If that stays in effect we may have to reschedule additional events. Right now I’m recommending that we only reschedule the events mentioned above and we adopt a wait and see attitude in this dynamic environment. Lots of things are likely to change in the coming weeks.

For anyone who has pre-paid for registration we are offering the option of an event credit or a refund. If you would like the credit there is no need to do anything – we will automatically credit your MotorsportReg account. The credit will be good for this season and next. These are certainly trying times, and we are all in this together. Please do everything you can to keep yourself from becoming infected and from spreading the virus to anyone else.
