“Assbuster Award”
“The Assbuster Award” was first presented in 1979 to Tony Predock, and it has been presented every year since then. The award is to be presented to the person who did the most work behind the scenes for the Texas Region Club Racing program in the prior year. It is not a Worker of the Year award. The award can be presented to anyone who helps advance the club racing effort in the Region and who otherwise would not be recognized.
The Texas Region will present the traveling “Assbuster Trophy Bowl”, with two steel balls, to the recipient. The Region will also present a keeper plaque or trophy to the “Assbuster” recipient.

Worker of the Year
SCCA Club Race would not exist without workers who volunteer their time and energy to support our racing events.
- They spend countless hours in corner stations, working in all manner of weather conditions and sometimes putting themselves at personal risk to help drivers in distress on
course. - They make sure times and laps are properly and accurately recorded to ensure finishing positions are correct. They assemble and bring radio equipment to the track to enable communications critical to event operations and track safety.
- They provide race management and race control to ensure efficient race operations, and they adjudicate disputes and protests.
- They orchestrate paddock, organize grid, ensure the course is ready for racing, and provide pace cars for the unruly pack that racers can be. And they do all that for very little compensation, simply because they love the sport of auto racing.
