Region, SCCA Board Meeting Minutes
Annual
meeting of the Texas Region, SCCA
09NOV05
The
meeting was called to order by acting Regional Executive Sasha Lanz at
7:38pm. Fifteen members were in attendance.
A
vote-counting ad-hoc committee was appointed. They had 82 ballots from
the postman, and several from the members present.
A
motion was made, seconded, and passed to dispense with the reading of
the minutes.
John
Dorety, our Treasurer, gave a financial report.
Matt
Lucas, the new Assistant R.E. for Solo, was introduced.
The
December Board meeting was announced.
The
Christmas Super School was announced and discussed.
Area
Director Mike Sauce reminded us that we will have to include a new
National class in our races next year. He also told us that a search has
begun in Topeka for a new SCCA President. He gave us a Pro Racing
report, including the fact that the Trans Am contract is being
re-negotiated. Solo is an area of the club that is doing especially well
financially at the moment, he reported. And an alert: NASA will be
holding a year-ending championship event at MidOhio starting next year,
after we move to Heartland Park in Kansas. Regions will need to promote
the Runoffs™ next year to make sure we don’t lose any entrants.
Visitor
Jerry DeFaio was introduced. Member Mike Sexton, who has volunteered to
help with Car Shows, was also introduced.
The
counting committee reported that Robert Vick will be our new Regional
Executive; Debra Loth will be our new Corporate Secretary; John Dorety
will continue as Treasurer. The Board members elected are Tim Evans,
Ralph Siebert, and Dan Sherrod. Since we have a Board vacancy due to
Phil Osborne’s resignation, by rule in the bylaws, the next placing
person in the election will be appointed to the Board at the January
meeting: so Robey Clark will be a Board member next year as well.
The
meeting was adjourned at 8:32.
