July
Board Meeting Minutes
The Board meeting was called to order at
7:30 PM on 11 July 2005 by Chairman
Sasha Lanz.
Committees
gave their reports as follows:
RACE
– Ralph Siebert
Reb
Folbre has set the December Double School Entry Fee at $500.
Some discussion around whether that was too high or low.
St Louis Regions Double School is much higher at $800-$1000.
Ralph
reviewed the Profit and Loss statement for the 3 day event last May
(Sunburn Race). Net
profit of $3657.76 was generated.
The region went over budget on a few items like security, wrecker
service and RV lots. The
region would like to continue a 3 day event at TMS in May 2006.
Group discussed doing a Regional, Double National that weekend.
Sasha will present suggestion to SWDIV scheduling meeting on July
14th.
Robert
Vick has contacted TMS (David Pakebusch) to confirm dates for 2006.
May and December dates are good and October date will have to be
moved to either September or early November due to TMS/NASCAR scheduling
conflict. TX Region would like to do another R/N (if possible)
since SWDIV currently has just the minimum 6 National races.
SOLO
– Phil Osborne
Fathers
Day event had 114 entrants at the TMS bus lot.
This was way down. Next event is at Pennington Field and the Divisional
will be September 22nd at Mineral Wells.
RALLY
– Sasha Lanz
A
coming rally with Dallas Sports Car Club that is being cooped with DSCC
paying the SCCA sanction and insurance fees.
MEMBERSHIP
– Robey Clark
Currently
region is at 935 members. SCCA
headquarters is giving our region useful reports every week on the
status of new and departing members.
Robey wants to send out an intro letter from Texas Region to our
new members to get them engaged.
Still
waiting to confirm the August meeting at Hooters in Addison on a Sunday
afternoon or Wednesday evening.
MINI
GP: Brian Sill (Sasha)
Greenville
event was a success. Brian bought a UPS for timing equipment as the
computers went down on the Mini GP in Waxahachie. During the last race
of the day at Greenville, the system had to be rebooted, but this was
not power-related.
Additional
Items:
SRO
– Sasha would like to give a point to the Publicity Chairman for
working the May race. Dan
Sherrod pointed out that all licensed officials should receive points
for working and that the region can buy additional points to be used at
the BOD’s discretion.
January
SWDIV Meeting: Where
do we want to have meeting as it could be Texas Region’s turn to do
it.
SCCA
might be willing to do have the National Convention in Dallas if Texas
Region was willing. Dan
Sherrod was involved with 1984 NC and said that the region made about
$10,000 but that the amount of work was significant.
SCCA corporate has said that they will be doing the majority of
the planning.
9 PM
– Meeting adjourned
Respectfully
submitted,
Tim
